“From our first meeting I knew I was in safe and understanding hands. I am in my mid-twenties, post-uni and a couple of years into a marketing career that I was not enjoying, with no idea what path I wanted to take. Careers aptitude tests have never worked for me – they’re too random and impersonal – so I knew that I needed to talk to a human being.
I found Kath through the recommendation of a colleague. At first I was pretty nervous and didn’t know if she’d be able to help, but she was immediately reassuring and understanding of my stage of life! Kath’s approach is empathetic and grounded, and I was instantly put at ease discussing everything I had on my mind. Kath has an amazing ability to take everything you’re saying and summarise it with an almost uncanny insight into what the issues really are. Not only that, but after discussing directions, Kath checked in regularly, as well as using her network to find next steps and opportunities for me which I hugely appreciate. She has connected me with mentors and fantastic resources! Through Kath’s connections I completed a Data Analytics training, and 10 months later, I’ve managed to land my first job in my new direction. Without Careers with Intent, none of this would have been possible, and I’m so grateful to have found her sensible, practical, and friendly service. I never felt that there was a question I couldn’t ask, no matter how small or silly. Kath has been consistently helpful throughout. Now I’m stepping confidently into a career I’m excited by, and I can’t wait to see where this takes me.
